(Twisted) Cooking Mama

"Game is okay, but I disagee with the message."

date: November 20, 2008

The game itself is a "fair" copy of cooking mama, perhaps some of the parts seem to not be sensitive enough. Like I kept hitting the egg on the edge of the bowl, which by the way you shouldn't do because it drives shell into the egg, crack on flat surfaces, but I somehow missed most of the time even though I was hitting the edge. I think it's hilarious how mama has an epiphany and is suddenly hugging turkeys. By the way, it's never made clear in the game, are you promoting vegetarianism or vegan-ism?

I am not one of those people who doesn't know what happens at slaughter houses, but rather I consider those who eat meat and try to imagine that it was never alive hypocrites. I eat meat, but I don't consider myself a bad person, although you might based on this game. I also love cooking, and cutting meat out of that equation is too limiting for me, and I assume it's the same for most chefs. It's not entirely fair to label all chefs who cook with meat as "evil". I watched the "bonus" videos, and I'm going to cook my turkey anyway, because I honestly enjoy cooking it as much as eating it.

A Crow in Hell

"You die WAY too easily."

An interesting premise for an old style of flash game, there is way too little forgiveness in the way of each area.

Soul Core

"Very good game except for a few problems."

submission: Soul Core
date: October 21, 2008

A minor problem would be how while it is noted that the mirror showing you how you look might hint as to what hair and eye color you're supposed to select for the clone, it is never really explained why you should select the same hair and eye color as your own, as it is needed to reach 100%. A more serious problem would be how you're supposed to apparently look for fragments during timed segments to increase the clones soul, which is not explained or at all hinted anywhere except maybe for walkthroughs. The concept is awesome though, maybe next time after making a clone, you could go on to do stuff with it, and your clone's intelligence would be determined by it's soul %. Just a suggestion.
